You know that hardware store in the midwest called "Menards"? It's kinda like Home Depot or Fleet Farm. I don't work there, but it sure is a crazy-cool place. Their name is pronounced "meh-NARDs", though we slightly mispronounce it in this song.

The song idea had been in my head for a while, but it wasn't until I was talking to Jeff and Erin that they finally pressured me into recording it. They also made some suggestions that seemed to improve the lyrics (Enstrim suggested the last of three misunderstandings, and Melody suggested that the salesman was the one being misunderstood instead of the customer).
