What are the compelling benefits of ROFLing when I could just LOL?
by The Cow Exchange
The other day, I was playing Unreal Tournament 2004 and chatting with a player named C_I_M. We were discussing the finer points of ROFL'ing instead of LOL'ing, and decided that ROFL'ing was quite a bit of work with very little return. It just seemed a lot more sensible to LOL standing/sitting still. Plus, quite frankly, it's hard to play UT2004 and ROFL at the same time. But LOL'ing? No problem!
When I laugh, I face one direction. But some acronyms give the suggestion that if I were in another's presence instead I'd see them rolling on the floor. I think my chair is more than adequate and those who roll around must look quite fatuous. Or maybe I'm being excessively masculine where my sentiments and I should be deplored.
So I just want to know for the heck of it, what are the compelling benefits of ROFLing when I could just LOL? 'Cause it cleans the floor? 'Cause it'll quench a small fire ("stop drop and ROFL?!")?
Is it worthwhile? 'Cause I have awful little space in which to ROFL. How's this superior to a simple LOL?
