Discrete Coffee (demo)
by The Cow Exchange
This is a "first take" demo, with most of the melody/chords improvised on the fly. As such, it's a minimalist take with some pitchiness in the vox. But you get the idea. I'd like to add more texture/ambience to it in the 'studio' version if it ever makes the cut.
raindrops falling down on hills
giving free refills
...to my ten Seven Eleven cups
Jello jiving in stout vials
struggles for survival
the ice box is about to be unplugged
you said "this is not a picnic"
your vanity is sickening
oh, the things i do for a fuh-riendship
we walked down seventh street
and entered the sixth store
to buy a fifth of coffee
they charged us a quarter
but thirded the sugar
and halved the half and half
so we got lots of coffee
but not lots of sugar
a bit less cream
but more cream than the sugar
relatively speaking
I turned back to you
you looked so amazing
eloquently raising your drink to acquaint it with your tongue
but you know, when it's fresh it's hot
you didn't have to scald my
face when spitting out that junk
