Second Hand (demo)
by The Cow Exchange
Written + recorded in an hour.
Apologies to Nirvana. I think the chorus has a melody far too similar to one of their songs, but I didn't realize it until it was too late to do something else. And I can't find the song it reminds me of. So frustrating . If you think of it, help a cow out!
This story is loosely based on how I ran toward the CVS drug store and slipped on ice outside their building, but was thankful that they had lots of medical supplies in case something actually went wrong. It seemed like a good business reason not to spread salt.
VERSE
I enjoyed your help the first time
When you helped me off the floor
Of the CVS drug store
It gets slippery close to the door
How am I supposed to know
That I should wipe my feet?
Outside it's 5 degrees
Ice melts, I take a secret seat
CHORUS
Gimmie a second hand
Gimmie a second hand
I liked the hand the first time
Hand-wise, single is where I stand
Gimmie a second hand
Gimmie a second hand
I liked the hand the first time
Hand-wise, single is where I stand
VERSE
I know you watched me for some time
To steady my ascent
But I stumbled round the bend
Could you please just pick me up again?
At least I'm in the right place
Kinda like an iPhone app
There's a drug store aisle for that
Check next to fancy bandages
<CHORUS>
